Curt Roof Basket Review - 2018 Subaru Forester

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Subaru Forester we'll be installing Curt's roof mounted cargo basket, part number C18115. This is a nice simple cargo carrier. It's great because it doesn't interfere with any of the operations that come factory on your vehicle. It's the economy option, it's got plenty of tie-down points and what I like best about it, is that you have that option to extend it. So if you're going on those longer trips, your family gets bigger, this thing is going to keep growing with you. This cargo basket is going to increase your vehicle's carrying capacity to be able to put more gear on top of your roof or you can take gear that was inside your vehicle and put it on the roof and now you've got more room for passengers inside the vehicle. It measures 41 1/2 inches long, 37 inches wide and 4 inches deep, and features 150 pound carrying capacity. Now you do want to check your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure you're not exceeding the carrying capacity of your factory roof rails. Now, if you need more carrying capacity you can get an extension that will add 21 inches of length, bringing it to to a total of 62 1/2 inches. more

Today on our 2015 Subaru Forester, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Canyon. This is going to be your rooftop mounted cargo basket. As you can see, we have it up here on out of our vehicle, connected to our Thule aero blades. This is going to be part number TH859. This cargo basket is going to be 49 inches long, 40 inches wide, have a depth of 6 inches with a weight capacity of 150 pounds on a sturdy steel construction. As you can see, we already have three of the feet installed and we're going to show you how that last one goes on. One thing to know or a tech tip if you will is before you put it up on top of your vehicle, make sure you get your center to center crossbar spread so from this point to the center of this one and then adjust your feet using the tools that you have which is going to be an Allen tool. more

Thule Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Subaru Forester

Today on our 2015 Subaru Forester, we are going to be test fitting the Thule Moab, this is the mother of all baskets cargo carrier. Part number TH690XT. With the Thule Crossroad roof rack system on our vehicle, we are going to go ahead and take our Moab and place it up onto our roof rack. Once we have it on there, we are going to go and make sure that we have it centered. We'll just come in the front of the vehicle, make sure that we have it nice and centered, just going to bring it over a little bit more and then we'll go ahead and start tightening it up our connection points. This is just a really easy system, all we got to do is remove one of the wing nuts, bring the bolt up through the appropriate slot, and then we can reinstall that wing nut. more
